A Texas hospital is running a trial of its new nasal spray that can help protect against the flu.
The nasal spray contains a compound that blocks the virus’ most deadly agent, the influenza A virus.
A new trial at Memorial Hermann Hospital, where it was developed, shows it can reduce the number of people infected with the virus and reduce the severity of symptoms, the hospital said.
The new nasal mask has a similar design to that used by hospitals around the world, including Texas.
The nasal spray can be dispensed by a nurse or an airway doctor, who can then administer it to patients.
The trial was started by Memorial Hermanns Health System, a Texas nonprofit that runs hospitals in Austin and Plano, Tex.
The hospital said the nasal spray is being tested for flu-specific efficacy in patients who have been treated with a standard nasal decongestant, a nasal spray or a nasal gel.
“We believe this product is a great alternative to other nasal products that do not protect against influenza,” Memorial Hermannes said in a statement.
The nasal decongser is an aerosol-based product, meaning it is meant to spray directly onto the nasal mucus, not directly on the nose.
A nasal decoders spray is meant for applying to the upper part of the nose, instead of the middle, according to the National Institutes of Health.
The study’s results will be published in the Journal of Clinical Infectious Diseases.
It’s not clear whether the nasal decoction could help protect patients against the most dangerous strain of the flu, the H1N1 influenza virus, or whether it would work better for people who don’t have a history of respiratory infections, the journal said.
