An autopsy report has been released on the death and cause of the death that occurred on November 10, 2016, in the West Bank town of Qalqilya.
According to the preliminary report by the military prosecutor’s office, the soldier, named as 22-year-old IDF Spokesman, Major (retd) Eitan Gonen, died after he was struck by a tank while serving as a medic in the village of Qasr al-Ghaab in the northern West Bank.
Gonen was one of the soldiers killed by the Israeli military during the Gaza war in 2014, during which Israeli forces targeted civilians with deadly airstrikes.
Geden was buried on November 17, 2016 in the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem’s Old City.
According the report, a video surveillance camera was in the vicinity of Gonen’s location at the time of the incident.
The video footage was turned over to the army prosecutor’s investigation team, which then began a comprehensive examination of the footage.
Gensen was killed while being medevaced to the nearby Hadassah hospital.
The autopsy report states that the soldier suffered injuries that were consistent with his being struck by an IDF tank.
The cause of death is classified as “cardiac arrest,” and the investigation team will conduct further examinations to determine the exact cause of Gensen’s death.
According a statement from the Israel Defense Forces, soldiers are supposed to wear their uniform at all times and conduct their work in pairs and in pairs.
The IDF says the soldier was not armed.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRC) condemned the killing of Gentsen, calling it a “despicable crime.”
The PRC said in a statement on Wednesday that the shooting should never have occurred and called on the Israeli authorities to ensure the safety of all IDF soldiers in the field.
The IDF said the soldier’s funeral would be held on November 19.
The death of the Israeli soldier was the second in less than a week following a shooting in Jerusalem on Wednesday night.
An Israeli soldier opened fire at a group of Palestinian youths in Jerusalem, wounding one of them.
The incident comes amid heightened tensions between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, which has been engaged in an ongoing armed campaign in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip.
Israel has also said that it will not recognize a Palestinian state in the territories, despite international pressure to do so.
